This is such good advice, I am loving this from Mr. Walter! I think for me, coverage/feedback can be brutal, but that is good as it helps develop the writing. Delete is your friend! Loving the Essentials of Screenwriting by the maestro himself, 10/10. If you're a writer, I advise getting his book!

The great Charles Bukowski said “If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockery--isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.”

To Jackson: Take your best script and enlist the help of a script doctor like Prof. Walter or someone he recommends, or shoot one of your films yourself. "El Mariachi" it. Read Rebel without a Crew by Robert Rodriguez (you can get it online for free) and make it yourself. You can shoot a movie on an iPhone these days. The basic editing in iMovie is not bad, and Final Cut is affordable. Make it yourself and take it to a production company. Then they can see what you have in mind exactly. Or enlist the help of an artist and make some concept art and take those with. Convince them with your passion and blow our minds. All the best.
