Richard, I think what you are saying is that everyone gets many bites at the cherry. (You have to love the sayings, the idioms and adages.) Writers can write and re-write, directors can take the many takes, actors can rehearse the lines etc. Most seem to have many chances but none more so than editors who probably (for me anyway) are simply the best. To make stories not just better but GOOD. The last point of call, for corrections and enhancements.
You know, I don't think I've ever met the Great One, but it surely would be nice. Would you mind sending that writer / script doctor over? These first 3 pages are killing me. No Dead Pan for me yet, sorry.
