Richard, I'm not exactly sure about what you're trying to say about the eff word or violence. As for Coppola... Some time ago I managed to track down the first page (and that one only) of Patton. According to many, that page wouldn't suffice today. Too many words. The other sad thing is that directing (and producing) took Mr Coppola away from the keyboard. I guess his 1970s iconic films (mostly two stories) set the bar so very high.
