Academics can be so finicky, vindictive, and just plain full of crap, which is why I chose not to pursue a doctorate, but other, more rewarding, artistic activities. It is so much more fulfilling. Except of course if you can teach screenwriting like Prof. Walter does.
Very interesting post. You may wish to have changed the title of your book in retrospect. But even with the current title, it's a valuable source for writers and interested readers be it a "non-creative textbook" in view of some academics or, in my view, a guide for "creative writing."

Richard's Essentials of Screenwriting was the first and very best book I read, so long ago, when I began the odyssey that is my screenplay. I have referred to the notes I made from it many times for encouragement and direction.
