A majority of people who are negative towards AI are just scared, many of whom are also insecure in their profession. Instead of viewing AI as competition, it should be viewed as a tool, much like Final Draft, but better. You can write a story, simple or complex, in prose and have it instantly and correctly formatted to screenplay. You have a built in editor, proof reader, and collaborator to help you noodle and develop ideas. This isn’t limiting, it is in fact extremely helpful. The best way to make sure AI doesn’t take your job is to become a skillful user of AI, and really turn your creativity loose!
Happy New Year. You've talked about adopting novels into screenplays, but what about adopting video games into movies? Sonic the Hedgehog seems to be doing well and Sega's Streets of Rage and Golden Axe games could be turned into interesting stories, but others like Resident Evil have done less well. Also, Robert E. Howard's Conan short stories made for some pretty good movies and the short stories are fun to read on their own too. Perhaps they are the exception? What are your thoughts on video games and short stories? Kind regards. Hein.
